Twice a week, I have my "Me Time" while Pucker goes to his preschool.
More often than not, I tend to get uneventful errands scheduled on these days, but every once in a while, I get to relax, enjoy some grown-up time, and still have some time leftover to actually miss the boys.
Jay and his classmates
After showing up at Jay's class for a quick Thursday Folder duty (日本でいえば連絡帳係でしょうか・・・), I was able to have one of those mornings today. Since Rachid had 1-1/2 hours that he needed to kill in between his meetings, I met him at our favorite shopping place and had a quick lunch date.
At one of our faverite restaurants, Kona Grill
I believe these dates are essential in keeping our marriage together. Thinking back about my childhood, however, I do not remember being babysat at all. Being away from both sets of parents, I'm sure my parents didn't even have an opportunity to get away from us, and I honestly cannot thank them enough for their dedication. No wonder why they're having the time of their lives now that both of us are grown and have our own families.
I am eternally grateful for the love and support I was given by my parents, and that is one of the forces behind my enthusiasm as a Mom. I hope to somehow pass on at least as much as I was given to my children, in the hope that each generation will have the legacy of generations past and more.
