We Are Moving On!

Today was Pucker's preschool graduation.

As Rachid and I watched him perform songs and go through the commensement, we could not help but to be amazed by just how much he's grown in the last 2 years.

When you really think about it, that's almost half of his life, so I guess I shouldn't even be moved by it. But just this last year, he wouldn't have been able to sing songs with everyone else (he would have been the pouty one refusing to perticipate) or nicely greet and shake director's hand (he would have snatched the diploma out of her hand) or say goodbye and leave the school (he would have firmly planted his two feet declaring to stay there forever).

All of a sudden, I remembered the first day of preschool 2 years ago.
I went to pick him up a bit early, worried about him not doing too well without me, only to find him get very upset that I came to pick him up at all. He just wanted to live there, he said.

My little boy is growing up, with the same sets of personality traits and temperament still, but with the ability to maturely control his emotions and to clearly verbalize his thoughts. As proud as I was to see him be a functional member of his little community, I could not help but to feel a little bit sad.
