It's August 15th again, and it marks a significant date in the history of Japan, or of the world actually--the end of the war in 1945 or more commonly known here as the V-J Day.
To think that only 63 years ago, my country and Russ's country, where I now call home, were at war boggles my mind. Our marriage, let alone our children, would not have been a possibility. As I sat in my air-conditioned, comfortable home contemplating how to spend the rest of the day with the boys, I could not help but to honor those who that did not have the same luxury of choice.
